That's easy. The only thing Japanese about it is the name. Same goes for Azuma/Ozuma in San Carlos which someone talked up here fairly recently. Ugh!!! Peanut butter udon?!?! Yiiiikes! Pass on Bonsai in RWC. All 3 are run by people who didn't grow up with the food and then never bothered to learn _anything_ about it before opening their own "Japanese" place beyond busing tables for 6 months in another Japanese rest.and thinking "hey, I can do this and the margins on this food are better than Chinese/Korean, less competition, too." All 3 suck big, white putty balls. No, come on, tell us how you really feel.... Had a wonderful dinner at Suzu-you in San Mateo last night. Geat value It's on 2nd. Can't beat Kaimuki on El Camino, but it is a little more expensive. Thumbs up on Ganko Sushi in San Carlos, maybe the best quality fish on the Peninsula, with a nod to Sushi Kei in Millbrae. Can't go wrong with Higuma in RWC. The common thread is that all of these are run by people who actually know the cooking of Japan. And no, I don't think much of the new Japanese noodle place on Villa in MV. Someone wrote: > I saw this ad in a local paper about Daisharin Japanese Buffet in Foster > City.
