There are certainly mom-n-pop Mexican restaurants that are better than Chevy's, but there are also many inferior ones. I'd say Chevy's is better than at least half. Things I like about Chevy's: - great chips and salsa - a few good items (especially fajitas and quesadillas) - reasonable prices Things I dislike about Chevy's: - as noisy as an indoors rock concert - many of the entrees suck (eg, all enchiladas) - not enough variety in the menu - annoying radio commercials } So far Fiesta del Mar (in Mountain View) and Chevy's stand out as the } best Mexican restaurants in the South Bay that I've tried thus far. Try La Paloma in Santa Clara. It's on El Camino a block south of San Tomas Expressway. Good prices, excellent food.
