For what it's worth, I had a horrible meal at Cafe Marimba, and I don't plan to give it a second chance. Actually, that's an exaggeration; it wasn't horrible, it was mediocre and overpriced; service was slow and the waitperson had one of those loathsome "I'm not *really* a waiter" attitudes. The decor was cute, though. As for being authentically Oaxacan, don't judge by *my* opinion -- I'm the guy who chartered a plane to get out of Oaxaca because I couldn't stand the place or the food. Give me a little cafe in Veracruz, Tuxtla Gutierrez, or even Villa Hermosa any time, though. BTW, for authentic regional Mexican cuisine, be sure to try Guymas in Point Tiburon. !Buen probecho! -- *************************************************** * Gary Sloane [email removed] (415) 933-5359 * * * * "Let's eat rat to keep fat" --A.
