My cousin in Sacramento make awesome biscuits as well. He uses the bacon fat and makes drop biscuits. All in all, I would still rather visit New Orleans than Sacto. BTW, where was this place? I had my first grits as a little place by the flea market. Wow, they were good. Back to biscuits, somehow I never seem to work the dough the right amount. I love big crispy biscuits, either drop or rolled.

While on the subject, is there a soul food place in town? Fried chicken and greens would also hit the spot? Speaking of which, the next time anyone goes to Oakland, CA, I can send you to the best fried chicken in the worst place. Uncle Fred's recipes on San Pablo in the middle of West Oakland. Horrible location, great food.

(Yes, I know this was long and drifty, but that is how I feel today.)

I was there once, it was pretty good. It was next to the Uhaul place
on Washington Rd. I believe its history now, though they may have moved
 somewhere else.
As to Matt's request for a good soul food place; try The Southern
Platter at 8989 Frankstown Rd, its a little bit beyond Homewood. ( It
used to be right in homewood, but they moved.) They have an all you can
eat Sunday brunch from 1:00 to 7:00?. Excellent food.
