Well, it's not in the South Bay, but if you find yourself near Berkeley you should definitely try Nan Yang near the corner of College & Claremont. (Strictly speaking, I guess that's actually Oakland.) Having never been to Burma I can't vouch for the authenticity of the cuisine, but the food is outstanding, and definitely not thinly veiled Chinese.
