A couple of wine country restaurants.

Spent a couple of days in the wine country last week. Went to a couple of restaurants:

A Girl and a Fig. This restaurant received excellent reviews. Unfortunately the evening we were there they did not have the signature dish: Duck Confit. We made do with the other choices. Not a big menu, but excellent food. My pasta dish was a little too cheesy. The others in our party loved their choices.

Flagstone. This is the restaurant next to the Culinary Institute, although not related to the Institute. We were originally a little disappointed that this is not part of the institute. But the service and the food are both exceptional. They have an extensive hor d'oves menu, kind of like a Tapa experience. We ordered a number of dishes and they are all very good. The main dish were also exceptionally good. I had the roast pork loin and my wife had the rack of lamb (at $26 the most expensive of the dishes).

A word about the Culinary Institute, do not waste $3.00 for the tour. It was not worth that much money, and you can do your own walk around and get the same results.
