Same general pit design, same sides (or lack thereof, depending on your point of view), same layout more or less in the dining room. Even some of the old Kreuz accoutrements like the clock and burnt-up menus. _Much_ larger overall. Of course no smoke-covered walls or loading docks for beef sides. Worst off all the changes though, no leg-hair singeing firepits that you could fantasize about one day nudging your attorney into. Oh well. The old Kreuz will now be "Smitty's", and they're doing what looked like an excellent job of keeping the traditional feel as best as they can given 1999 health codes for new restaurants. New tables, counters, chopping block, but otherwise looking as <ahem> rustic as ever. Should be open now. Maybe Lockhart will boast of yet another great bbq joint... But for now, a ring of Kreuz sausage, some 1015 onion, serranos, pickles, and a cholesterol monitor, and I'm set..
