Two recommendations: Just South of Petersburg, VA, on I85 is Kitchners, which serves fine BBQ ribs. At Exit 95, in South Carolina, try Normans '85 Truck Stop. It's like truck stops used to be before the chains took them over. Best buy is the $3.00 pris fixe luncheon - I had pork chops. Enjoy
Barbecue
restaurants on 85/95 route from Baltimore to Atlanta
In Durham, North Carolina - Exit I - 85 onto Cole Mill rd, make a left at off ramp. At ligt make a left onto Hillsborough Rd. You will pass tons of gross fast food restaurants. At third liught will be La Salle St. Make a left. At first street, make a RIGHT. There you will find Bullock's Barbecue- the best barbecue place (arguably) in all of NC. Everything is good. The distance from the Interstate is not more than 5 min and worth ever minute. Very inexpensive. I have been lucky enough to grow up with Bullock's in town. Whenever out of town guests from up north visit, we take them there to educate them about REAL southern food, not this frou-frou crap that hit pricy NY restaurants.
