My husband and I had a good lunch experience Sunday at the King James Restaurant on Washington Blvd. I knew they were known for their barbacue but I have been very impressed with the other things offered on the menu both times we have been. For lunch I chose grilled salmon which was fresh and seasoned to perfection and included two generous 6 oz. portions. I chose collard greens as one of my sides and they too were perfectly seasoned and a delight to find on the menu. My husbund chose the sliced barbacued pork and was particularly impressed by the tangy sauce and tender meat. The breakfast menu includes grits, Texas toast, and fish which are hard items to come across on most Pittsburgh menus. The portions are always generous and you will never leave this place hungry. They also have lunch buffets for under $7.00 and a Sunday buffet. My only disappointment is that more people have not discovered this place. Each time we have been to the restaurant it has not been very crowded and it is such a pleasant change to find a restaurant in Pittsburgh with such a Southern, down home appeal.
