We tried two place near KC, MO. Snead's, at 171st and Holmes Rd.in Belton, was plain with very tasty barbeque and outsanding baked beans. The Smokestack at 135th and Holmes Rd. in Martin City, was a little more "comfortable", very rustic in decor and also very good. Their grilled salmon fillet was very tasty. We've been to the KC Masterpiece in Lombard, and Snead's and the Smokestack were definitely much better. First choice would be the mokestack. Many people like Arthur Bryant's.

But Belton is way the hell out there (by KC standards).

Yes, this is an excellent choice, too. I forgot about it
because I hadn't been there in the last couple of years.

KC Masterpiece is fairly ordinary no matter where it is.

There also is a little known place, Jake Edwards, at 51st
and Main just south of the Plaza. Even though it was within walking distance of my house, I never ate there for some reason. Smelled good, though.

Well, I'm not one of them.

Check out Mel's Hot Dogs on Busch Blvd by Busch Gardens. Totally awesome.

We love Bryant's. The sauce is a vinegar sauce. You might want to not have sauce on it and add at the table. I think the sauce is great but some people don't. They also have a more traditional sauce on the tables. A sandwich and large fries will feed two average people. The beef-turkey combo is my favorite. The ribs are fantastic and the beer is COLD. The Station Casino store seems to have better meat and is a safer location than 18th street but we have never had a problem there. Don't wear white if you drip or splash- the sauce will NEVER come out.
