Can anyone tell me if Curtis is still doing business in Putney, VT? If I recall it is off exit 4 of I-91, behind the gas station and body shop. I haven't been there for years, but he served some of the best ribs I ever enjoyed. He was also featured in an article in the New York Times, about twelve years ago. I will be in the Albany area and I wouldn't mind taking a very scenic drive for some great ribs.

Thanks,

Howard

We visited Curtis' barbecue several times this past summer and fall. It's still there and still the same. But I'm almost positive that Curtis closes up the old barbecue school bus when the weather gets too cold, and reopens in the spring. The phone number there is/was (802) 387-5474. By the way, Curtis added some more sheltered picnic tables, so it's a much nicer place to eat. If you go back to Curtis' in the spring, here's a tip for after dinner: head south on Route 5 toward Brattleboro, and top off the meal with homemade ice cream from The Real Scoop.
