Sheila,

Thank you for the recommendations, I have never been to Austin and I am sure that I will find them most useful. There are four BBQ joints within easy driving range of Austin that are legendary in BBQ circles, I am really looking forward to sampling their fare. Those four plus the three in Austin that I am interested in trying, I may be forced to have two lunches one or two of the days I am there.

We are going with two other couples and neither they, nor my wife are interested in eating BBQ morning noon and night, do you have a recommendation for an upscale dinner or three?

Must try BBQ joints:
Kreuz Market, Lockhart Texas (30 miles from Austin) Coopers, Llano, Texas (60 miles from Austin) Southside Market, Elgin Texas (23 miles from Austin) Mueller's, Taylor, Texas (27 miles from Austin)

Try if there is time BBQ joints:
Country Line, Austin, Texas
Iron Works, Austin, Texas
Rudy's, Austin, Texas

Thanks again

Enjoy,
Gary
