Well, I guess they're ok if your idea of going
to a restaurant is getting a bargain $7-$9 steak
with an inedible salad in the company of patrons
wearing polyester pants.

"I'm going to Phx area end of Sept. Looking for restaurants." Just returned from a week in AZ; Had great steak at Monti's in Tempe. Reasonably priced. If youget to Tucson and are looking for great Mexican fod, try Mi Nidito on S. 4th. Outstanding. Also, if you go further south, there are magnificent steaks at The Steak Out, located in Sonoita, AZ, just a little north of the Us/Mex border.

That would be Durant's... very funky, and if you like the lounge feel, you might as well stop in at Chez-Nous on 7th AVENUE and Indian School Road for a drink before or after dinner.

One of the Best Mexican restaurants in the US has got to be Such Is Life on 24th Street in Phoenix. Upstairs is Spanish Cuisine, downstairs is Mexico City Mexican. Their Chicken Mole is so incredible, has hundreds of ingredients in it and tastes great with the salsa verde that they serve. Since it was written up in the New York times, you must make reservations.

Also, try Rancho Pinot Grille 602-468-9463, La Pila on Central Avenue (tell them you read about a coupon in the "U" report and your meal is half off - and call for the hours) they have a great salad made with red grapes, pomegranetes and carmelized walnuts. Also try Los Dos Molinos for spicy hot mexican in Tom Mix's old home way in South Phoenix.

Enjoy - and Phoenix has sooo many other great restaurants!

For fabulous "hole in the wall" mexican chow you can't beat Los Dos Molinos.

they have 2 locations, one in or near Chandler and one in South Phoenix. But be careful, some of their stuff is VERY hot. Be sure to ask.

enjoy!

Oh! One more place...for incredible tacos try Guedo's Tacos...also a hole in the wall place, definitely in chandler, can't remember the exact streets but it's down around Arizona Avenue in chandler. It should be in the phone book. You won't be sorry!

The finest food that I have experienced in the Phoenix area is Vincent Guerihault's on Camelback. The restaurant is located in Scottsdale. It serves French cuisine with Southwestern U.S. influences. JDB Sacramento, CA
