Monti's La Casa Vieja, on Mill Avenue just north of ASU. A great, affordable steak restaurant, and one of the area's oldest.

Try the chilis rellenos at Teepee's, a raunchy gringo texmex joint at 40th & Indian School.  Breakfast at Steele's in Scottsdale (also on Indian School) is very civilized...
