wuz just there, loved the "Rustlers Roost". Grow there own beef, VERY good, the 24 oz porterhouse is the specialty and deserving the rep. Try the rattlesnake appetizers if'n yer a mind to, I liked it...does NOT taste like chicken..its...unique. Good BBQ too, kinda loud on live music nights, quite informal...fakey cowboys all over....but the food wuz damn good.

I enjoyed a dinner at Rox/Sand. It's in some swanky mall (sorry I can't be more specific as to location). I suppose I would categorize it as Nouvelle: pasta dishes, imaginative salads, etc. They also had several dessert wines by the glass, which I appreciate.

The restaurant at the Arizona Biltmore looked great, but I had jeans on at the time and didn't think I'd feel comfortable there. If you have a chance, it's worth checking out the Biltmore just to see what Frank Lloyd Wright could do with simple concrete blocks.

I would highly recommend Top of the Rock, at West Court on the Butte.
It is in Tempe, I believe, which is just a few minutes out from Phoenix. It is located atop a butte of sorts, with a marvelous view at night. The food is marvelous. Last time I went I had the mesquite grill assortment, and loved it. They serve three types of dinner bread, and three types of butter. Decor is lovely, and the service excellent.
