I like Salsa Brava. I make a point to eat there every time I'm in town. I think they have a couple of locations.

I would also recommend making the drive (40 minutes or so south) to Sedona. Incredibly beautiful, with some good eatin'! Cowboy Club is the popular hang there.

Let us know where you go!

I'll second Salsa Brava, & add Beaver St. Brewery: Good, simply- prepared food & of course good beer.

If it's a pretty day, have luch at L'Auberge in Sedona. Excellent food (but shaky service) & beautiful setting -- dina on the banks of Oak Creek.

Just ate at Dahl and DeLuca's in Sedona, which serves Italian (primarily Northern). It was very good. All of our dishes were well prepared.

I've heard positive things about L'Auberge, but also that it's relatively expensive ($60 pre fixe for dinner).

A friend has said the Cowboy Club serves a great creme brulee.

We had lunch (outside) at L'Auberge a number of years ago. Had unusual onion soup (wonderful then, now they serve standard French onion soup since the ownership changed) crusty French bread, and a glass of white wine. Not that pricey for a light lunch, but agreed pricey for dinner.

If the original poster travelling to Flagstaff hasn't been to Sedona, I'd say it's a MUST!

Up hwy. 89A there's a restaurant, Shugrue's (believe pronounced Sugar's) where we had a wonderful French dip. Also reasonably priced.
