A young woman with very long hair, her right hand raised toward her head, is the focus of this c1902 studio portrait, made by photographer Fritz W. Guerin. The gesture and the loose, abundant hair suggest a pose meant to show off hairstyling and the fashions of the day. Around 1900, studio photographs like this were often used as models for illustrators and as examples of current styles, and the card's note "Glamour" hints at how the image was once described. The record is based on an old, unverified caption card, so the date, attribution, and label should be treated as provisional.
