The caption names the White Star liner Olympic, which entered transatlantic service in 1911 as one of the largest passenger ships afloat. Its arrivals drew crowds to the piers, and Bain News Service, a New York agency that sold news photographs, documented such moments for newspapers. The title comes from the agency's own notes and has not been independently verified, so the scene should be read with that caveat. Still, the glass negative preserves a clear record of the period's ocean travel, when a liner's arrival was a public event.
