A witch in a tall pointed hat rides across an orange moon beside a black cat, with pumpkins sitting in the foreground, all set against a dark night sky. Cards like this were a staple of the early twentieth century, when Halloween was shifting from farm-and-neighborhood revelry toward the commercial holiday we know now.
